TubeChop

TubeChop is a great YouTube editing tool.  No need to register or log in.

As a teacher, I often just want to show a piece, or a series of pieces of a video to a class.  TubeChop makes this easy.  Just grab the URL for the YouTube video you want to edit (or do a keyword search from the YouChop site) and paste it into the text box on the YouChop homepage.  YouChop with then load it into the editor and you can choose a range of time (the portion of the video you want to watch) using a slider for start and finish.  Then "Chop It".

The site will them give you a link and embed code that you can use to disseminate the finished product.  Very easy and very convenient.

Don't have video editing software? No problem! Here are some online versions that will take you a long way. Not only do the software exist online, but so do your videos. So, your students can easily work on their videos at school and home and not worry about software or transportation of large video files.

Kids' Vid: Video Production for Students

This is an interesting site for those of you with no video production experience. Now, I'll warn you that this has nothing to do with video software and how to get videos on your computer. You'll have to get that somewhere else. However, it does have a lot of good advice on HOW to video and some hardware tips.

I think that this is a good resource for younger students and, possibly, even their teachers :)
